About MV:
Designer and musician, Marc Vachon
has become known for his hand painted leather jackets, custom hats and timeless collection of pants. Since creating his first custom
pieces for band mates and close friends in 1986, MV has remained faithful in his commitment to produce
unparalleled pieces that have become stand out classics in the world of
rock and roll apparel. The MV aesthetic has become a standard in the
rock world and you know you’ve done well when some of the biggest design
houses, brands and stylists in the industry are inspired your vibe.
Born
and raised in Los Angeles, Vachon began playing music at the age of 12,
performing in cult punk band Mad Society with his school mates, who
soon found themselves opening for influential artists like X, The Circle
Jerks, Bad Religion, Black Flag and the Weirdos. Starting out at such a
young age gave Vachon the perspective of not only being part of an
inspiring community, but learning from the best the original L.A. punk
scene had to offer. In his early 20s Vachon formed the band, Funhouse,
which opened for Guns N’ Roses, The Damned, Motorhead , and NoFX. It was
at this time he created his first hat collection, from which one piece,
wound up on the cover of a popular Hollywood music magazine worn by
none other than Steven Tyler of Aerosmith fame. This sparked a
creative jolt for MV, in the L.A. rock scene culminating with a feature story in
Spin magazine with Vachon as the centerfold at the age of 23.
Vachon
is proud to have created clothing and styled looks for the best in the
world of rock and roll. Artists like Slash, Duff McKagan, Aerosmith,
Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, Brian Forsythe of Kix, are some of
Vachon’s biggest names wearing his clothes. Beautiful and diverse women
like the amazing Yolandi of Die Antwoord, superstar Mariah Carey,
actress Gina Gershon, pop star divas like Christina Aguilera, actresses
and models, Carmen Elektra, Devon Aoki, Joanna Krupa and even the late,
great, country legend, June Carter Cash all have been seen wearing MV.
Vachon has expanded his brand to include custom silk screening, art and
specialized merchandise for bands and companies all over the country.
